Color Wave Topper

Needed:

PSP X

This was written in X, but should

be workable in other versions.

 

A tube of your choice

 

A bottom edge mask of your choice

 

No Outside Filters Required

 

Performance Notes:

All settings will remain the same

unless otherwise noted.

 

Let's Begin

 

1  File > Open (Ctrl + O)

Open your tube

 

2  Windows > Duplicate

Close original

 

3  Image > Resize

Settings:

Resample using = Smart Size

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Checked

Width = Will self adjust

Height = No more than 350 Pixels

 

4  Windows > Duplicate

Minimize for later use

 

5  Dropper Tool (E)

Foreground

Left click for light color from your tube

Background

Right click for medium color

 

6  Layers > New raster layer

 

7  Layers > Arrange > Send To Bottom

 

8  Flood Fill Tool (F)

Settings:

Match Mode = 0, Use all

layers = Unchecked, Blend

Mode = Normal, Opacity = 100

Flood fill with your chosen light

or medium color

 

9  Layers > Merge > Merge visible

 

10  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless tiling

Settings:

Default

 

11  Adjust > Blur > Gaussian Blur

Settings:

Radius = 20.00

 

12  Effects > Distortion Effects > Wave

Settings:

Horizontal displacement

Amplitude = 50, Wavelength = 50

Vertical displacement

Amplitude = 0, Wavelength = 10

Repeat = Checked

 

13  Layers > Duplicate

 

14  Image > Mirror

 

15  Layers Palette

Lower opacity of this layer to 50

 

16  Layers > Merge > Merge visible

 

17  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

Settings:

Uniform = Checked

Noise = 10

Monochrome = Checked

 

18  Effects > Image Effects > Seamless tiling

Settings:

Default

 

19  Materials Palette

Change your background to pattern

and find the pattern we just made

Settings:

Angle = 0

Scale = 100

 

20  File > New > New Image

Settings:

Width = 1024, Height = 400

Raster background

Color depth = RGB 8bits/channel

Transparent = Checked

 

21  Flood Fill Tool (F)

Flood fill with pattern

 

22  Layers > Load/Save Mask >

 Load Mask From Disk

Load bottom edge mask of your choice

 

23  Layers > Merge > Merge group

 

24  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

V & H = 2, Opacity = 50

Blur = 2.00, Color = Black

Shadow on new layer = Unchecked

 

25  Restore up copy of tube

 

26  Edit > Copy

 

27  Edit > Paste as a new layer

 

28  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

 

29  Layers > New raster layer

Add your watermark

*Optional*

You may also add text if you wish

 

30  Layers > Merge > Merge visible

 

31  Image > Canvas Size

Settings:

Width = 1024

Height = 2000

Top Middle Arrow = Checked

 

32  Layers > New raster layer

 

33  Layers > Arrange > Send To Bottom

 

34  Flood Fill Tool (F)

Flood fill with your chosen light

or medium color

 

35  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

 

36  File > Export > JPEG Optimizer

Set compression value = 25 - 30
