Easy Geometric Topper

Skill Level - Intermediate

 

Needed:

PSP X

This was written in X, but should

be workable in other versions.

 

A Tube of your choice

 

A Bottom Edge Mask of your choice

 

Plugins:

 

Video Rave  HERE

Simple  HERE

FM Tile Tools  HERE

 

Let's Begin

 

1  File > Open

Open your tube of choice

 

2  Window > Duplicate

Close original

 

3  Image > Resize

Settings:

Lock aspect ratio = Checked

Resize all layers = Checked

Resample using = Smart size

Width = Will self adjust

Height = 350 pixels

 

4  Dropper Tool (E)

Foreground

Left click for light color from

your tube

Background

Right click for dark color from

your tube

Minimize your tube for now

 

5  Materials Palette

Set your foreground for gradient

Settings:

Foreground-Background

Angle = 45, Repeats = 1

Linear, Invert = Checked

 

6  File > New

Settings:

Width = 1024, Height = 450

Raster Background

Color depth = RGB-8 bits/channel

Transparent = Checked

 

7  Flood Fill Tool (F)

Settings:

Match mode = None

Use All Layers = Unchecked

Blend mode = Normal, Opacity = 100

Fill with your gradient

 

8  Effects > Plugins > Video Rave >

Streamer

Settings:

PanWheel = 122, Mode = 86

 

9  Effects > Plugins > Video Rave >

Grain Maker

Settings:

Grain = 90, Red Mode = 108

Green Mode = 113, Blue Mode = 110

Note:

You may want to adjust the Mode

values to suit your taste.

 

10  Layers > Duplicate

 

11  Image > Mirror

 

12  Layers Palette

Lower the opacity of this layer to 50

 

13  Effects > Plugins > Simple >

Diamonds

 

14  Effects > Plugins > FM Tile Tools >

Blend Emboss

Settings:

Default

Horiz. Offset = -1.000

Vert. Offset = -1.000, Intensity = 0.250

Gray Level = 64

Red Blend = 0.938, Green Blend = 0.938

Blue Blend = 0.938, Edge Wrap = Checked

 

15  Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

 

16  Layers > Load/Save Mask > 

Load Mask From Disk

Load bottom edge mask of choice

Settings:

Source Luminance = Checked

Fit To Canvas = Checked

Invert Transparency = Unchecked

Hide All Mask = Checked

 

Note:

You may have to change the

transparency setting depending on

your mask.

 

17  Layers > Merge > Merge Group

 

18  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

V & H = 2, Opacity = 50, Blur = 5.00

Color = Black

Shadow On New Layer = Unchecked

 

19  Restore up your tube

 

20  Edit > Copy

 

21  Edit > Paste As New Layer

 

22  Position to suit.

 

Note:

If you are using a misted

tube, you may

want to skip the next step.

 

23  Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow

Settings:

V&H = 2, Opacity = 50, Blur = 5.00

Color = Black

Shadow On New Layer = Unchecked

 

23  Layers > New Raster Layer

Add your watermark and text if you wish.

 

24  Image > Canvas Size

Settings:

Width = 1024, Height = 2000

Top Middle Arrow = Checked

 

25  Layers > New Raster Layer

 

26  Layers > Arrange > Send To Bottom

 

27  Flood Fill Tool (F)

Fill with either your chosen light or

dark color

 

28  Adjust > Add/Remove Noise > Add Noise

Settings:

Gaussian = Checked, Noise = 7

Monochrome = Checked

 

29  File > Export > JPEG Optimizer

Set compression value = 25 - 30
